Moto Guzzi MGS-01

The Moto Guzzi MGS-01 is a motorcycle born from pure racing ambition, the ultimate expression of what the legendary Mandello del Lario factory could achieve when aerodynamics, power and lightness were pursued without compromise. Conceived through the visionary collaboration between Moto Guzzi and the specialist engineering firm Ghezzi-Brian, the MGS-01 Corsa first appeared in 2002 as a homologation special destined for the Battle of the Twins series. Produced in extremely limited numbers, it transcends the category of mere production motorcycle to occupy the rarefied space of a functional work of art—a machine that rewards its fortunate owners with an experience that simply cannot be replicated by any other Italian twin.

The MGS-01 is powered by a heavily reworked version of Moto Guzzi’s signature 1,225cc longitudinal V-twin, featuring high-compression forged pistons, race-profiled camshafts and fuel injection calibrated for maximum response. In Corsa specification, the engine delivers approximately 122 horsepower at the crankshaft, channelled through a close-ratio six-speed gearbox. The characteristic transverse torque reaction that defines every Guzzi V-twin is amplified here into a visceral, deeply engaging riding sensation where every throttle opening communicates directly through the rider’s body. The deep, thunderous exhaust note announces the MGS-01’s presence with unmistakable authority.

The chassis architecture represents a radical departure from traditional Moto Guzzi design. A lightweight tubular steel trellis frame, engineered by Ghezzi-Brian, cradles the engine while offering exceptional rigidity and precise geometry. Fully adjustable Öhlins suspension front and rear, paired with Brembo racing brake calipers and lightweight forged wheels, deliver a level of dynamic precision that matches dedicated race machinery. The sculpted single-seat fairing, designed in the wind tunnel, wraps the entire package in a silhouette that is simultaneously aggressive and elegant, emphasising the MGS-01’s purpose as a machine built to dominate on circuit.
