Francobollo commemorativo Ducati 100 anni - Poste Italiane 2026

On April 9, 2026, Poste Italiane issued a commemorative stamp dedicated to the centennial of Ducati, within the prestigious thematic series “Le Eccellenze del sistema produttivo e del Made in Italy” — the same series that celebrates the historic companies that have made Italy great throughout the world.

From a Bologna basement to the top of the world

Few people know that Ducati did not start as a motorcycle manufacturer. In January 1926, engineer Antonio Cavalieri Ducati founded in Bologna the Società Scientifica Radiobrevetti Ducati, specializing in radio communication technology. It was his son Adriano, a brilliant 19-year-old physics student, who achieved the first stable short-wave radio connection between Italy and the United States. Only after the war, in 1946, was the legendary motorcycle division born with the mythical Cucciolo — a small 48cc engine that conquered the world with over 250,000 units sold.

Since then, a hundred years of innovation — from Fabio Taglioni’s desmodromic system to victories in MotoGP and Superbike, from the Monster to the Panigale V4 — have made Ducati synonymous with Italian excellence on two wheels.

The stamp

The face value is €1.30 and is available on the Poste Italiane Philately portal. For collectors, a Ducati Panigale Lithograph (light version, €50.00) is also available.
